^ In Fall 2015 the project codes were changed. CIRAS (C) projects are now Small Industry (S). Industry projects (I) are now Large Industry (L). Student Club projects (S) became (C). Outreach (O) and Department (D) remained unchanged. In Fall 2016 ISU Research Foundation projects (I) were added – tracked with ISU Dept projects (D).
Notes:
- Industry represents projects sponsored by state recognized companies and corporations. These projects are classified by size with “Small” being less than 500 employees and “Large” being greater than 500 employees.
- Outreach – Service projects done at no charge to the sponsor – typically non-profit, school or health-care.
- Department – From ISU faculty for the purposes of supporting research, undergraduate lab class or similar. Sponsoring faculty covers all material/travel expenses.
- “I” Projects – ISU Research Foundation sponsored projects working to make patents market-viable.
- Club (student club) – Projects from student organization competition teams participating in “Grand Challenge” design such as SAE Baja/Formula, ISU PrISUm Solar Car, Cyclone Space Mining or other similar organizations.
